A night at Urgent Care

Greyson has been sick lately. He nose is runnier than usual and Friday he was running a fever.  It was a low grade fever but it persisted until Sunday. His mood was up and down. At times he was our happy smiley baby, and others he was a sobbing mess who didn't want to be put down. He seemed to be on the mend by Monday so we thought we were in the clear.

Jake has also been up and down over the past week or so. He lost his voice for a few days, and was tired and achy. Then he seemed to get better. Then Monday as Greyson was getting better Jake seemed to be getting worse.

Yesterday, both my guys seemed to be on the downward slide again, so when I got home from work, off to urgent care we went.

The prognosis was strep for Jake, and something bacterial for Greyson (the PA honestly wasn't sure if it was ear infection, sinus infection or strep) and these one year old aren't too interested in sitting still to be tested. Jake got a big ol shot in the butt and Greyson got a prescription for an antibiotic.

Both seem to be on the mend today, and are busy playing.

Weekend Plans Foiled and Plan B

We were supposed to go to see our new neice Avery in Burlington this weekend, but the weather foiled our plans.  We got 6 inches of snow Thursday night into Friday and down south was supposed to get more. Turnings out B town only got 3 whooping inches.  Thankfully one of the great things about being closer is we can reschedule.  We are now going to go the weekend of March 8th.

We were so lucky to be with Jessica, Andrew and Avery the day she was born, but I was/am really looking forward to seeing how much she's grown.  Of course I bought her a few cute things.

Friday night we just hung out at home, Greyson and Jake have been sick and I think everyone was just plan tired.  Jake and I have been watching the West Wing on DVD so we cranked out a few episodes once G man went to bed.

Saturday we took the dogs and Greyson outside to plan in the freshly fallen snow.  Our  dog Lucy gets so much joy from playing in the snow.  I love watching her run, and jump and chase snow balls.

I've had good intentions to get some family photos/professional pictures of Greyson taken for ohh 6 months or so.  I finally had an opportunity on Sunday and we got some great shots.

Last night we watch a little bit of the Oscars and then turned in early.  I've joined the family ranks and seem to be getting sick myself.  What did you think of the Oscars? Whos dress did you love/hate?  There were some pretty dresses, and some pretty crazy dresses, but I don't think there was one that totally stood out to me either as a love or hate.

Trying again

As I always do, I had/have great intentions of starting this blog up again.  I've realized lately how much I enjoy keeping up with my friends who tweet, update their facebook status, and blog regularly.  I feel like I know them better as many are long distance, and consider them good friends.  It also is dawning on me that they aren't able to do/feel the same way about me because dispite the fact that I've checked my facebook and twitter feeds probably 10 time already today, I rarely post anything.

I made a New Years resolution to try to be in contact with my friends and family a bit more.  We've had a lot of changes of late, and are stil working through all of those, but I'd really like people to know what's going on with us.

So here goes.... again.  Friends who blog regularly, I'd love some tips on how you come up with content.  I just never feel like I have anything to say.

I think shorter posts with lots of pictures is a good way, so I'm going to start with that.

I think this to my sisters and said, he has all kinds of toys and yet the hairspray can, and the empty diaper box seem to be the most interesting things in th world to him.

This is what our backyard looks like after 6 inches of new snow fell overnight.  I'm thankful to have a job that allows me to work from home on days like this.  I'm currently driving 60 miles to and from work each day.
